Salut les gars. Nous sommes déjà en route pour une autre belle audience à la prochaine rencontre de MontrealPython. J'ai bien hâte de connaître les prochaines discussions. :)
J'aime beaucoup les présentations que nous avons prévues et je trouve qu'elles sont très attractives pour tout étudiant curieux. C'est pourquoi je pense que nous devrions faire un effort particulier cette fois pour inviter le plus d'étudiants possible. Imaginez combien ça serait cool de sauver quels étudiants de l'illusion que le monde est programmé en Java, C++ et PHP.
J'aimerais obtenir de l'aide pour passer le message sur les listes de diffusion et aux associations étudiantes. Idéalement, quelqu'un de McGill pourrait écrire à l'association McGill CompSci. De la même façon, on pourrait en faire autant pour toute autre école. Pour ne pas polluer le courriel de qui que ce soit, nous devrions répondre sur cette liste de diffusion dès que nous avons envoyé un courriel à une association ou à une liste de diffusion.

MontrealPython2 se tiendra le 10 avril 2008 à 18:30 au Standout Jobs HQ (3981 boul. St-Laurent, bureau 615 à Montréal). Les 30 premières minutes nous permettrons de nous rencontrer et de nous mettre à l'aise, avec en plus, quelques rafraîchissements. C'est aussi à ce moment que nous commanderons la bouffe. Il y aura deux présentations, toutes deux de niveau débutant à intermédiaire, et vous n'avez pas à bien connaître Python pour y assister. Et il n'y aura pas de questions qui seront considérées comme niaiseuses dans le genre «comme Python produit-il du pseudo-code binaire?» et «qu'est-ce qu'un .pyc?» dans le but de vous embarrasser.

Asterik et Python

Asterisk permet à l'utilisateur moyen de faire à-peu-près n'importe quoi avec un système téléphonique. C'est un logiciel libre et souvent identifié comme étant «le futur de la téléphonie». La première étape pour utiliser Asterik est de bien le comprendre et pour cela, sera la première partie du discours magistral de Cyril. La seconde partie sera consacrée sur comment prendre avantage de Python pour rendre Asterik beaucoup plus facile d'utilisation.
PyQT et PyOpenGL: Construction rapide d'une application jouet

Pour les 35 prochaines minutes, Yannick construira un jouet logiciel en partant de zéro à l'aide de PyQT et de PyOpenGL. Après quoi, il répondra aux questions pour une période de 10 minutes.

Hey guys. We are already on our way to having another really nice
crowd for the next MontrealPython meetup and I'm really looking
forward to hearing the talks :)
I really like the presentations we have lined up and I find them to be
very attractive for just any curious student. That's why I think we
should make a special effort this time to invite as many students as
we can. Imagine how cool it would be if we could save a few students
from the illusion that the world is programmed in Java, C++ and PHP.
I would like to get some help getting the word out to student
associations or mailing lists. Ideally, someone from McGill could
write to the McGill CompSci association, likewise for any other school
you can think of. In order to not spam people, we should reply to this
thread as soon as we send an email to an association or a mailing
list.
Here is the important info:
MontrealPython2 is going to be held April 10th 2008 @ 18h30 at
Standout Jobs HQ ( 3981 boul. St. Laurent, Suite 615, Montreal ). The
first 30 minutes will be to meet and get confortable, with some
refreshments. This is also when we will order food. There will be 2
presentations, both range from beginner to intermediate, and you don't
have to know python well to come. And there will be no embarrassing
questions that will make you feel uncomfortable, like how does python
produce bytecode and what is .pyc?

Asterisk, allows the average user to do pretty much anything he wants
with his telephony system. It is open source and billed as the
"future of telephony".
The first step in using asterisk is understanding it correctly, which
will be the first part of Cyril's lecture. The second part will
focus on how to take advantage of Python to make asterisk a whole lot
easier.
PyQT and PyOpenGL: Live hacking a toy app
by Yannick Gingras.
For the first 35 mins, Yannick will hack a toy app from scratch using
PyQt
and PyOpenGL. After that, he will answer questions for 10 minutes.
